Summer is wrapping up (that was quick!) and we're approaching that weird, in-between-seasons time where you need shorts in the morning and a sweater in the afternoon. If you follow me on Instagram, you've definitely seen Coop sporting Native shoes – the cute little rubber slip-on shoes – all summer long. We love them because they're lightweight, stay on even when he's running (aka all the time), don't need to be worn with socks, don't stink, AND they're waterproof. A couple weeks of him wearing them nonstop and I realized they looked a little… dingy. Here's my guide on how to clean Native shoes:
Gross, right? I thought about popping them in the dishwasher but wasn't sure about the heat breaking them down. So I busted out the Magic Eraser, mixed some Dawn in warm water, and scrubbed them down. Voila! They were like-new in 5 minutes. I'll definitely be repeating before we pack them away for the season. Seriously, look at the difference!
So fresh, so clean!
Native shoes aren't cheap but they don't fall apart and have really good resale value – I see them on the mom swap groups on Facebook all the time and they're always quick to sell for around half their original price. Here are a couple of our favorite pairs of Natives for girls AND boys:
